“Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God”. (2Corinthians 7:1)
As the adage goes “cleanliness is next to godliness”. It is against this backdrop that the Church of Pentecost Bibiani District in conjunction with Ghana National Fire Service took it upon themselves to embark on Environmental Care Campaign.
On Saturday,9th April,2022. The District Pastor, Dominic Nana Achea-Mensah, District Executives, Presiding Elders and the entire membership of the church embarked upon a clean up exercise in the principal streets of Bibiani. Weedy areas were cleared and choked gutters were also distilled.
The District Pastor urged the members of the church and the citizens present to practice environmental cleanliness to curb the huge volumes of filt. “If someone says that cleanliness is next to godliness, they are referring to the idea that people have a moral duty to keep themselves and their environment clean.”
He assured that the exercise would not be a “nine day wonder”, rather, it would be organized intermittently.
Prior to the programme, Asante Gold Corporation, Bibiani Ltd supported the exercise with shovels, rakes, watering cans, hand gloves, wheel barrows, protective jackets among others.
It would be recalled that last year, The Church of Pentecost planted over one million trees as part of the directives from the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources.
The Municipal Chief Fire Officer, Mr Joseph Amihere was happy for the exercise and prayed the church to continue the kind gesture.
