The Assembly Members of the Asunafo North Municipality in the Ahafo Region has confirmed the President’s Nominee, Mr Osei Yaw Boahen as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE)for the Municipal Assembly in Goaso.
All the Forty Two (42) elected and appointed Assembly Members present voted YES representing 100 percent in an elections supervised by the Regional Electoral Commissioner, Mr John Appiah Baffour.
The EC Officer before the election explained proceedings to house and said the nominee need to meet a constitutional requirement of two- thirds of members present and voting.
Mr Appiah Baffour also appealed to members to conduct themselves well and allow the process to conducted in a free and fair manner.
In his acceptance speech, Mr Yaw Boahene commended the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his reappointment for the second term.
Mr Boahene was very thankful to the Assembly Members for the confidence reposed in him and promised to work closely with them to ensure accelerated development in the area.
He praised the traditional authorities, party supporters and residents for the support honour done him.
The MCE pledged to ensure the completion of all ongoing projects and programmes in the Municipality so as to uplift infrastractural development.
For his part, the Ahafo Regional Minister, Mr George Yaw Boakye commended the assembly members for the display of what he termed love for the community.
He promised the ARCC readiness to partner the Assembly to Foster rapid development.
