Atwima Nwabiagya MCE Nominee Endorsed At Last

Mr Michael Amoah Awuku could afford a smile following endorsement by assembly members for Atwima Nwabiagya Municipal at a Special Meeting held at Nkawie on Friday October 1, 2021.

In their first meeting held last week, per the Local Government Act 936, President’s nominee failed to secured the two-thirds of 31 votes when he garnered 19 votes, hence, the need for another election.

Luckily enough in the second meeting, Mr Amoah Awuku had obtained 23 votes representing 74%, to serve for another term of office.

Thence after confirmation by the EC, the MCE-elect thanked the assembly members for endorsing his candidature.

He asked for the support of movers and shakers, and the entire public of the Municipality in prosecuting the agenda his government.

To him, once the struggle for his endorsement was over, it would take the full cooperation of all stakeholders before he could succeed.

In attendance at meeting was Mr Kwabena Senkyiren, the Ashanti Regional Director of NADMOwho represented
Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr Simon Osei Mensah.

Also present at the meeting chaired by Mr John Hawson Anane, the Presiding Member for the Municipal, was Hon Benito Owusu-Bio, a Deputy Minister for Lands and Member of Parliament for Atwima Nwabiagya North.

Mr Senkyiren on behalf of the Regional Minister thanked the assembly members and advised them to work in unity to spend up development of the area.
