Black Starts depart for South Africa without Jordan Ayew, Baba Rahman & Five Other Key Players

The Black Stars will play South Africa without the inclusion of Jordan Ayew, Baba Rahman, Jeffrey Schlupp,Andy Yiadom,Braydon Manu and Daniel Kofi Kyereh due to COVID-19 traveling restrictions.

Myvoicenews.com understands that 25 players left the shores of Ghana on Saturday morning for the match-day two of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa on September 6, 2021.

The 25-man squad travelled without English and German-based nationals because South Africa is placed on COVID-19 red list of aforementioned countries and per the COVID-19 restrictions, the players would have to be isolated for 10 days when they return to their respective clubs.

The four-time Africa Cup of Nations winners started their 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers campaign with a narrow win against Ethiopia in the opening fixture at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium last Friday September 3, 2021.

South Africa will host Ghana in the match-day two of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers at the iconic FNB Stadium on Monday, 6th September 2021.
