Some Aggrieved Members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency of the Western North Region are calling on the National Executives Committee (NEC) of the party to quickly call their Member of Parliament (MP) Mr Alfred Obeng-Boateng to order over his alleged plans to manipulate the upcoming polling station elections.
According to them, there is rumour that the incumbent (MP) is creating another album to eliminate all the Constituency Executives who were not in his camp during the 2020 parliamentary primaries so that he could have a full control over the Constituency.
This, the group said, they are not going to sit aloof for such unfortunate incident to occur.
This, complaint came to light during a press conference held at Bibiani on Wednesday February, 16 2022 to register their displeasure to the NEC through the Regional Executives of the Party.
They requested the NEC to as a matter of urgency, to send delegation to come to the Constituency to conduct a vivid investigation to for stall peaceful atmosphere before, during and after the polling station elections.
Mr Richmond Nkuah Kwarteng, the deputy constituency secretary told the media that, Mr Alfred Obeng-Boateng besides rumour had personally confirmed his intention to sweep out some constituency executives from the upcoming polling station executives elections, constituency elections and the regional executives elections with the motive to retain his seat in 2024 elections at their last Constituency Executives Meeting in Bibiani.
“We will not allow our MP to use his mafia tactics to rig the internal elections which can caused the in 2024 parliamentary elections.
The NEC must call the Mr Alfred Obeng-Boateng to order else there be a chaos”, they stated emphatically.
However, the MP in his rebuttal has denied the allegations levelled against him by describing it as palpable false.
He said they are only seeking to tarnish his good reputation in the newly created region ahead the internal elections.
“Who am I to create a different album to manipulate the upcoming polling station elections. I mine the Chairman for elections ?”, he questioned the aggrieved NPP members?
Mr Obeng-Boateng said, this is a calculated attempt to discredit my numerous achievements in the Constituency.
He also advise all the party members to use party structures to seek redress before rushing to the media to make unnecessary allegations to tarnish his image and the Party.
