Ghanaian legend Mohammed Ahmed Polo has said that the Black Stars can only secure a place in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar if they get the best out of the midfield trio on Thomas Partey, Kudus Mohammed and Kamaldeen Sulemana.
According to the former Hearts of Oak coach, the fortunes of the West African Nation in their quest for a fourth World Cup appearance hugely depend on the fitness and form of the three key players.
Speaking in an interview with Accra based Light FM, the once upon a time dribbling magician categorically named the in-from trio as the key to Ghana’s Qatar 2022 hope.
“Black stars can only make it to the world cup if coach Milovan Rajevac get the best of Thomas Partey, Kudus Mohamed and Kamaldeen Sulemana in our subsequent games because with without these players Ghana will not qualify.” The living legend noted.
Ghana are currently battling it out with South Africa for a place in the Africa World Cup play off. Ghana are behind the Bafana Bafana by one point on the Group G standings with two games to go.
The Balck Stars started the World Cup qualifiers with a win and a defeat in the opening two games of the campaign the team’s chances have received a huge boost with the appointment former trainer Milovan Rajevac.
The 4-times African Cup of Nations winners have won their opening two matches under the Serbian tactician- a 3-1 win over Zimbabwe at the Cape Coast Stadium and a 1-0 win in the return encounter in Harare.
Ghana will face Ethiopia away from home in the next round of African qualifiers hosting South Africa in the last game of the group in what is seen by many as the winner takes all next month.
