Health Service Staff In My District Are Exceptionally Good- DCE Admits

The District Chief Executive(DCE) for Ahafo Ano South-East, Mr Thomas Owusu Ansah has openly admired the performance of health services staff in his jurisdiction,.

Most of the health service staff in his District, he noted, “are exceptionally good”.

He added that, majority of them have demonstrated high standard of professionalism and ethics of their work.

” Once you serve with your hearts out, you will have your good rewards on Earth and in Heaven”, he stated

He added that, though health service staff are confronted with many challenges on their line of duties, they have been able to do their best to improve quality of health service delivery in the district.

The DCE commended the district directorate and staff of the health service at their 2022 Half Year Performance Review Meeting held at Adugyama on Wednesday July 27.

The meeting was organised by the district health directorate.

He assured them, he will reward the most outstanding staff by the end of the year at a colourful durbar.

He appealed to them to continue with their good service so to enjoy both earthly and heavenly rewards.

The district health directorate has two hospitals, three health centres and five CHPs Compounds.

Mrs Priscilla Sarkodie, the District Health Director noted that though there were challenges confronting them, the directorate had been able to achieve successes in the last six months.

She mentioned renovation of Essienkyiem CHPs Compound, free health screening at Fawoman, increase in routine Vitamin A supplementation coverage among others as their high points during the period under review.

She noted that, though there has been drastic improvement in health service delivery in the three sub-districts namely Sabronum, Pokukrom and Biemso per their reports, the situation would have been better if there were adequate resources at their disposal.

Lack of residential accommodation for staff, inadequate staff and means of transport, according her, impeded the speed of their work.

She therefore, appealed to individuals, non-governmental organisations, and philanthropists with the financial muscle to complement the effort of the District Assembly to increase their performance.

Thomas Awuah , Adugyama.
