I thought goalkeeping was dead- Burna Boy on why he could not become a footballer

Burna Boy has recently let fans in on how he abandoned his dream of becoming a football and found solace in music which ultimately took him to the pinnacle of life.

The soaring self-professed African Giant claimed his position during his playing days in goalkeeping but he thought he ‘didn’t feel important’ to his team because ‘goalkeeping was dead.’

The Grammy-winning artiste mentioned this during a conversation with British-Nigerian media personality Julie Adenuga. Burna stated that he did not want to spend the rest of his life as a goalkeeper and that he thought the squad would be fine without him.

He said; “I love football. I was good at playing football but the wickedest thing was that I was good at goalkeeping. That’s why I just stopped because [goalkeeping] was dead. I didn’t feel so important. I just didn’t feel like I was needed like that. I felt like without me the team will still be alright. I don’t want to spend my life like that.”

According to reports, Ellen threw her black brassiere at Burna Boy during his performance at the Belgravia Sports Club in Harare, Zimbabwe, in June 2022.

The attractive woman tweeted a news item about her declaration of love for the Nigerian musician.

Ellen revealed that the latest man who dumped her was the fifth boyfriend to break up with her over the incident. She wrote; “I broke up with my 5th Boyfriend because of this @burnaboy must just come and marry me kwacho.”
