The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Juaben in the Ashanti Region, Mr. Omane Aboagye, has commissioned a 16- seater water closet toilet facility for the residents of Abesim to improve sanitation in the Municipality.
The beneficiary communities were Abesim, Daaman electoral area, a suburb of Juaben and other surrounding communities.
The project, aimed to promote healthy atmosphere in the town was funded by National Petroleum Authority (NPA).
At a short ceremony to hand over the facility to the community members, the MCE expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Member of Parliament (MP), Mrs. Ama Pomaa Boateng and praised the contractor for a good work done.
He was happy with the the quality of work and level of effeciency of the contractor.
The MCE was confident that with such toilet facility, Juaben Municipality was on course to end rampant open defecation in these areas.
He urged the beneficiaries of the toilet facility to ensure regular maintenance to prolong its life span.
Mr. Omane Aboagye ends his address by attributing the recent economic hardship in the country to Covid-19 pandemic as well as Ukraine-Russia war as a major cause.
He, however, assured Ghanaians to keep faith in the NPP government, nothing that, government was putting measures in place to turn the economic woes around.
The Assembly Member of Abesim-Daaman electoral, Mr. Ransford Osei was thankful to MP and the MCE for their collaborative effort to complete the project on schedule.
He appealed to them for the completion of an abandoned toilet project at Daaman in order to ease pressure on the Abesim toilet facility.
He said, the new toilet facility would go a long way to enhance sanitation in the area.
He pledged the MCE for regular maintenance in order to preserve it for future use.
The chief of Abesim, Nana Duah Aboagye Sarpong ll, who chaired the occasion commended the MP and the MCE for their joint effort which saw speedy execution developmental projects .
