Juaben Municipal Assembly Members Reject President’s nominee

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) nominee for Juaben Municipal Assembly in the Ashanti Region has been rejected by the Assembly Members.

All Assembly Members present were 26, (18) elected and (8) appointed took part in the voting process.

The Yes votes were 6 respresnting 23% and the No votes 20 respresnting 77% at end of the election.

A section of the Assembly Members were very furious at the decision of their colleagues whose delibrately voted against the President Akufo-Addo’s nominee, Mr Alex Sarfo Kantakan.

Some of the Assembly Members who spoke to Myvoicenews.com reporter complained bitterly about abysmal result of the election.

Some of the chiefs from the Juaben Traditional Area who respresented the Juaben Manhene, Daasebra Otuo Siriboe ll, who couldn’t hide their pains also explained the situation as unfortunate on the part the Assembly Members.

Mr Kwabena Senkyere, the First Vice Chairman of the NPP party who doubles as the Director of NADMO in Ashanti Region who represented the Ashanti Regional Minister Mr Simon Osei-Mensah, who appeals to the Assembly Members for 100% endorsement for the President nominee before the election was speechless due to the outcome of the election.

The programme attracted a lot of political starwals including the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Asante Akyim South, Juaso, Mr Alexander Agyapong, The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Sekeyere Kumawu Mr Samuel Addai Agyekum, the immediate past MCE for Juaben Municipal Assembly, Mr Kodjo Ansah-Sem and Member of Parliament (MP) for Juaben Constituency, Mrs Ama Pomaa Boateng.

The rest were Constituency Executives, Party Supporters, Clergy, Traditional Authorities, Assembly Members, Heads of Department among others.
