The Tescon fraternity of Western North Region would like to applaud His Excellency Nana Akuffo-Addo for paying the Nursing Training allowance across the length and breath of all nursing training institutions in the country.
It is worth to note that, prior to 2016 elections, without any global crisis, former President John Dramani Mahama cancelled the trainees allowance due to the self inflicted economic crisis created during his era. The then Candidate for the New patriotic Party and his Running mate made a solemn promise to Ghanaians on the restoration of the allowances.
Amid the current global economic crisis which is caused by the combined effects of Coronavirus and Russia-Ukrain war, the Nana Addo- Bawumia Government has been delivering on their social covenant with the people of the republic as far as the Nursing Training Allowance is concern.
On the 15th September, 2022, three months of the said allowance was paid to the students of the Nursing Colleges across the country. It takes a government who thinks about his people to take such a bold decision especially in the Russia-Ukrain and Coronavirus era looking at the total number of nursing training students Nursing Training in the country.
This kind gesture and fulfilment of the said promise has entrusted confidence and hope in this government hence the need to applaud the executive arm of the government.
This is a manifestation of how faithful and committed he is to his words.
As students, we would like to use this medium to say ayeekoo to you, Mr. President, for your unflinching.
God bless you Mr. President for exhibiting such leadership!
God bless the New Patriotic Party
God bless our homeland, Ghana
