Mampong Municipal Assembly Confirms Thomas Appiah-Kubi As MCE

The Mampong Municipal Assembly in the Ashanti Region has confirmed Mr Thomas Appiah-Kubi as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for a second term.

He garnered 32 Yes votes representing 66.67 percent as against 16 No votes respresenting 33.33 percent of the total valid votes cast in an election supervised by the Electoral Commission.

Mr Appiah-Kubi in his acceptance speech, thanked the President for the confidence reposed in him to steer the affairs of the Mampong Municipal Assembly for a second term and commended the Assembly Members for the endorsement.

He also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Mamponghene, Daasebra Osei Bonsu ll, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Mampong Constituency, Mr Kwaku Ampretuwm Sarpong and Constituency Executives of the NPP for their immense contributions towards the attainment of the two-thirds requirement as the constitution demands.

The MCE pledged to ensure the completion of all ongoing projects and programmes in the Municipality so as to guarantee the welfare of the people.

Mr Denis Kwakwa, the NPP Ashanti Regional Youth Organizer who represented Mr Simon Osei-Mensah, the Ashanti Regional Minister who had earlier asked the Assembly Members to confirm the President’s nominee with 100 percent endorsement thanked the Assembly Members for their support and entreated them to work together to bring more development.

Confirmed Municipal Chief Executives for Bekwai, Mr Kyei Baffour, Mr Alexander Frimpong MCE for Asante Akim South, as well as Mr Kingsley Osei, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ejura Sekyeredumase were present to support the nominee.
