In no distant future residents of Adense, Yawboadi and Banokrom in the Ahafo Ano South East District of Ashanti Region will have easy access to quality health services, thanks to the Member of Parliament (MP), Mr Francis Manu-Adabor for fulfilling a promise made in 2020.
During the 2020 electioneering campaigns, Mr Manu-Adabor
promised that if residents of above-stated farming communities renewed his mandate as well as President Akufo-Addo he would make sure health facility would be built for them to aid quality health care delivery .
And in fulfilment of promise made to the people, on Thursday January 13, 2022, an impressive durbar was held at Adense to cut the sod for start of a CHPs Compound to serve residents of Yawboadi and Bonakrom as well.
The project, the MP stated, was being funded by MP’s share of the District Assembly Common Fund(DACF) and NHIS Fund and would be completed before end of 2024.
The health facility, per design, will also cater for residential accommodation of three staff, apart from spacious out of patients department (OPD), consulting room, wards and others.
Other communities that had benefitted from the MP’s health care support during his regime are Pokukrom, Sabronum, Essienkyiem, Adukrom, Bokruwa, and Aponaponoso.
Addressing a durbar of chiefs, assembly member, unit committee members, NPP faithfuls and the public at Adense , Mr Manu-Adabor thanked the people from renewing his mandate in the last general elections.
He said, the start of the health facility project would not have been possible without voting for him and the NPP government.
He mentioned that their desire for good road, electricity, potable drinking water would be taken care of since he was not relenting in his effort to better their lots.
He urged the people to remain loyal to the NPP in order to enjoy more developmental projects and material supports.
The District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr Thomas Owusu Ansah thanked the MP for delivering on his promise made to people in 2020 and advised the electorates to rally behind to bring more developmental projects to area.
He used the opportunity to announce that funds were ready to construct residential accommodation for teachers to aid in quality education.
He said he District Assembly was waiting for approval from the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development to start the project.
Dr Nana Akua Afriyie Bafana, the District Director of Health was full of praise for the MP for contributing to qualify health care in the district, adding that, the MP’s decision to build a CHPs Compound for area was in line with universal health coverage which aimed at bring qualify health care closer to the people.
She expressed the Ghana Health Service’s readiness to make good use of the facility when it was completed for use.
On his part, Mr Humid Kramo, District Director of Education warned parents to desist from using their wards for farming activities during school hours.
He advised parents to invest in education of their wards since that would contribute greatly to the progress of their lives.
The chief of Adense, Nana Fosu Gyeabour thanked the MP and DCE for responding to their plight and pledged their support for them to succeed in their various offices.
Also at the event chaired by the chief of Adense were Mr Kaleem Abdallah Adam, District Coordinating Director, Mr Kwadwo Owusu, Constituency Chairman of the ruling NPP, Hon. Kombert Robert, Assembly Member of the area and Mr Thomas Awuah Asem, District Information Officer.
