Mr Alfred Obeng-Boateng, Member of Parliament (MP) for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency has presented some funds to the people of Kojina/ Subiri Nkwanta to desilt choked gutters in the Community.
The Member of Parliament encouraged the youth and members of his non- governmental organization, “Friends of Approachers” to support this worthy cause.
With the onslaught of the rains, most gutters have choked as a result of erosion.
The choked gutters have led to the deposit of dirty water which could serve as fertile grounds for mosquito breeding. This situation has a rippling effect of causing malaria in the community
On realizing this unfortunate incident, Mr Obeng-Boateng, the philanthropist of our time could not hesitate to release funds to curb the menace.
The funds are to be used to hire machines and buy food for the purpose of desilting the gutters.
In a related development, the MP made available Ghc 7,500.00 to three traders at Kojina. Each entrepreneur will receive Ghc 2,500.00 to expand their business.
In his address, Mr Obeng hinted; “charity begins at home,” hence the gesture.
He continued that this is part of the fulfilment of his campaign promise to alleviate poverty.
He assured his teaming supporters that the gesture will be extended to other communities gradually so they should exercise restraint.
The recipients were glad for the gusture and promised to put the money into viable ventures to ensure sustainable development.
