The Member of Parliament (MP) for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai constituency, Mr Alfred Obeng-Boateng has donated 100 bags of cement to the Anglican church in Humjibre.
This was in fulfilment of a promise made to the church during the 2020 electioneering campaign.
The promise was made upon realizing that a new auditorium for the church was under construction.
In his address, Mr Obeng-Boateng stressed that the onus lied on him to extend a helping hand to all citizens in the Constituency without discrimination.
He maintained that this was not the first time the community is benefitting from him.
Mr Obeng Boateng recounted some of the benefits the community has received under his influence which include 45,000 rubber seedlings for outgrowing farmers, Cocoa station, (Cocobod) for the community, packets of roofing sheets among others.
The Member of Parliament continued that oil palm nursery would be started soon to boost the plantation of the crop in the constituency. He finally calledd on the Rev. Minister and the congregants to remember him whenever they go on their knees for prayers.
Receiving the items on behalf of the church, Rev. Fr. Robert Ali, the Superintendent Minister, expressed his joy for the gesture.
He astonished at the gesture since the cement came at the right time to support the activities of the church. “The church is in dire need of cement”- he opined.
He admonished the followers of Mr Alfred Obeng-Boateng to eschew all divisive tendencies and unite for a common purpose.
It would be recalled that not long ago, the member of Parliament donated about 100 sewing machines and 20 hair dryers to churches in Bibiani and Bekwai respectively.
