The Member of Parliament (MP) for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency in the Western North Region, Mr Alfred Obeng-Boateng has brought smiles to the faces of ten youth in his constituency.
This came about as a result of the pivotal role he played in the recruitment of the youth after their training as professional teachers.
Ghana Education Service (GES) witheld the recruitment of graduates from private Colleges of Education for some time.
The last time graduates from such colleges were absorbed into the Ghana Education Service was 2017. Since then, the fate of those who enrolled in private Colleges of Education like Jackson College of Education and Golden Star hang in the balance.
As a result of this unfortunate development, Hon. Alfred Obeng-Boateng and other Members of Parliament took it upon themselves to pursue the agenda to negotiate on behalf of the youth.
Fortunately, there was a headway and GES Council absorbed some of the graduates into the public education sector. This feat will reduce youth unemployment and also strengthen the party at the grassroot. This buttressed his slogan “Acta non verba” which is literally translated as actions, not words.
This is not mere rhetoric or political gimmick but pragmatic effort to alleviate human suffering and also executive his obligations in the social contract signed with the electorates.
Some of the beneficiaries received their appointment letters on Monday,7th March,2022.
