MP for Bibiani provides toilet facility to four government Agencies

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai constituency, Mr. Alfred Obeng-Boateng has commissioned a place of convenience for four strategic government agencies in Bibiani.

The agencies are Audit Service, National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice(CHIRAJ) and National Service Secretariat (NSS).

The event transpired on Saturday, 9th July, 2022 amidst pump and pageantry at the premises of the above-mentioned agencies.

At a short ceremony to hand of the keys organisations, the astute legislator never minced words in expressing his gratitude to God and the contractor for a good job done.

According to the MP, he was satisfied with the quality of work and the level of efficiency of the contractor.

Mr Obeng -Boateng however bemoaned the inability of certain elected officers in the country that are not spending officers.

He continued that the inability of such officers to access enough funds from government coffers hampers progress and development.

Notable among them are the Head of state, MPs and Assembly Members.

The MP called for an overhaul of the 1992 Constitution.

The project is estimated at a cost of sixty- five thousand cedis (Ghc65,000.00). And it was financed by the Member of Parliament.

Mr Obeng-Boateng hinted that most of his projects are geared towards human resource development.

He maintained that human resource is the most valuable asset to the planet earth, hence his interest in touching lives through payment of hospital bills, school fees, apprenticeship programmes, employment opportunities among others. Ironically, these supportive programmes are not observable like roads and other physical infrastructure.

He urged the officers to maintain the facility to prolong it’s life span.

The MP ended by educating the gathering on the IMF issue which has become an albatross to the government.

Mr. Peter Kumi, the Head of Audit Service in Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality expressed his profound gratitude to the MP for the gesture. Conversely, he pleaded with him to streamline things for Community Water and Sanitation Agency in Bibiani for it to function effectively.

Background:
