An Assistant Suprintendent of Police (ASP) Kyei Sarpong, the Ejura Divisional Crime Officer has told the residents of Ejura and its environs to discard robbery allegations tagged on police and rather appreciate their effort in combating crime in the area.
” Our personnel are professional, resolute and committed to work so stop tagging us as criminals.
He said no amount of intimations can cause them to loose focus on combating crime in the area”, the Divisional Crime Officer stated.
In attempted robbery in Aframso on Teacherkrom – Sekyedumase road recently, one of the armed robbers who was knocked down by a taxi cab during investigations mentioned one Sgt. Kenneth Lirasey’s with Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Ejura as conduit but the Divisional Crime Officer told the media it was palpable false.
” Sergeant Lirasey is not a criminal.
He indicated that the criminals knows he’s combative and resolute that is why they are tagging him as criminal” he added.
ASP Sarpong warned the public to desist from allegations to bring the integrity of the Police Service into disrepute.
He further pledged the police commitment to fight crime and urged members of the public to corporate with them.
