Mr Kwame Asamoah, the Presiding Member for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipal Assembly has been elected as the constituency chairman for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the just ended elections after he stunned his two other contenders in chairmanship race with 962 votes.
His two contenders namely, Mr Solomon Osei obtained 109 votes whiles Mr Adjei Mensah Sylvester polled only 8 votes with 20 rejected votes.
The Constituency Chairman, who is also the current Assembly Member for the residents of Bibiani Estate Electoral Area has served the party in various levels, from polling station executive position to constituency level.
Other executives who were elected includes; Mr Paul Andoh, first vice chairman, Mr Anthony Twum Barima, second vice chairman, Mr Joseph Halifax Amandeh, Secretary, and Kofi Anane Korsah, assistant secretary.
The rest were Joseph Badu constituency organizer, Job Badu, youth organizer, Charles Assuah, Treasure, Christiana Donkor, women’s organizer, and Peter Tanya Kyemalo as NASARA coordinator.
Mr Peter Oteng Darko a representative from the party headquarter and special aide to Agric Minister, who administered the oath of office to the newly elected executives and called for unity and together to hard in order to break the 8 year mantra in the upcoming 2024 general elections so as to keep the party in government.
The election was conducted by the Electoral Commission Officials and observed by some party executives from National, Region, Constituency as well as the Member of Parliament (MP) to monitor the process the elections.
Mr Kwame Asamoah popularly called Kwame Ageege congratulated all his follow contestants and thanked the delegates for the confidence in reposed in him and pledged to work very hard with his able team to protect the seat from opposition NDC.
He appealed to the losing candidates to forget about the past and come together as one family.
