Prophet Owusu Bempah denied bail

The General Overseer of the Glorious Word Power Ministry Prophet Isaac Owusu Bempah has been denied bail by the Accra Circuit 4 Court.

The mana of God appeared in court on Monday, September 13, 2021, after he was arraigned by the Police following his arrest together with three junior pastors.

He pleaded not guilty after the charges against him were read to him.

He is to reappear in court in a week and will remain in Police custody.

Earlier, his church members had prevented journalists from filming the arrival of the controversial prophet.

They attacked and destroyed the phones of some of the journalists who had arrived at the court premises to cover the proceedings.

Prophet Owusu Bempah and his accomplices, Michael Boateng, Frederick Ohene, and Nathaniel Agyekum were picked up by the Ghana Police Service at his home Sunday evening.

They were arrested for the “creation and circulation of multiple videos containing threats, and the brandishing of a weapon and the assault of some police personnel”.

The Police in a statement said they arrested the suspects “after critically analyzing the said videos and based on intelligence gathered”.

The Prophet was seen with his men, some of whom wielded guns, at the home of Agradaa threatening her to step out of her room if she was brave enough.

They allegedly went to the home of Agradaa after she dared him to come near her for a lesson.

His men reportedly attacked the Police officers who had gone there to effect his arrest.
