The Paramount Chief of Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area, Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II, has sent a delegation of four prominent Divisional Chiefs to meet the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwa, Mr Alfred Obeng-Boateng to resolve all the differences that had been creating tension in the constituency which is likely to impede progress and development in the constituency.
The delegation of four include, Awasohene – Nana Amponsah, Nana Sompahene – Nana Korankye, Nana Ntakamuhene – Nana Somia and Nana Adiembrahene Nana Atipimhene.
There were two other prominent chiefs who joined Mr Obeng-Boateng to receive the delegation.
They are Nana Kofi Affi III – Manwerehene and Nana Dwantoahene of Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area.
At the meeting, the delegation told Mr Obeng-Boateng that Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyabi ll, who is also the President of the National House of Chiefs and they the delegation knew that he (the MP) had no prior knowledge of most of the publications that had been coming from the constituency particularly the current press conference organised against Ogyeahoho.
They want him, as the leader of the party in the constituency to put his feet down to ensure that those who are peddling false publications against the Paramount Chief and his sub chiefs are severely dealt with henceforth.
They also appealed the MP to involve the Paramountcy in his developmental agenda.
They further indicated that Ogyeahoho really wants him to succeed as a member of Parliament for the Constituency and would not in any way thwart his efforts or sabotage him.
They also revealed that, as President of the National House of Chiefs, Ogyeahoho was not happy about the numerous negative publications and the seeming tension in the constituency because he stands for peace and unity.
The delegation stressed that, they know Mr Obeng-Boateng to be peace loving person, however, his quietness is being seen as his weakness as a result of which his followers have been unjustly accusing the Paramount Chief of pitching camp with someone else.
The Member of Parliament (MP) Mr Alfred Obeng-Boateng, on his part, thanked the delegation for the advise and assured them that he had started investigating those behind the said press conferences.
According to him, he felt very sad when he listened to issues raise at the press conferences. He intimated that, he knows how sacred our Chieftaincy institution is and would not do anything to impune it.
He appealed to the delegation to plead with Ogyeahoho to forgive those who organised the press conference and as the custom demands, he would come to the Palace to plead for forgiveness on behalf of the organisers at the appropriate time.
The MP pleaded with Nananom to remain neutral when it comes to politics in order not to give the youth the opportunity to tarnish the image of the Stool and Nananom. He stressed
He pointed out that because of social media, the youth can hide in their comfort zones to publish all sorts of fabricated stories using MP’s identity just to cause disaffection between him and Omanhene.
