The Sefwi Bekwai Traditional Council has finally breaks silence on the three arrested suspects who murdered a 27 year-old Martha Tetteh at Atwima, a suburb of Sefwi Bekwai in the Bibiani-Anhwianso- Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region.
The three suspected murderers were arrested by Sefwi Wiawso Regional Police Command and one alleged to be the Sanaahene of Sefwi Bekwai Traditional Area, last month came as a surprise to the chiefs.
Speaking at a presser at the forcourt of the Traditional Palace, the acting President of Sefwi Bekwai Traditional Area, Katakyie Kwasi Afful II, who doubles Benkumhene of Sefwi Bekwai Traditional Area and chief of Sefwi Apenkrom emphatically stated that the residents wants to eradicate these rampant murder cases which has shown it’s ugly face in the area.
The traditional leaders also demanded the whereabout of the missing head of the lady (Martha Tetteh) from the the Police and appeal to IGP, President Akufo-Addo, Prosecutors and Judges to allow justice to prevail, since it is been alleged that some element within wants to use money to influence the case.
The Paramount Queen Mother Sefwi Bekwai Obaahemaa, Nana Abena Aniwaa II, expressed that the three suspects cannot execute the murder alone.
She has therefore appeal to IGP to trace and fish out the rest of the perpetrators and bring them to book for justice to the slain lady’s family.
She warned town folks who are linking her to the arrest of the Sanaahene of Sefwi Bekwai Traditional Council Kwasi Kokoreh to stop and allow the police to do their investigations.
The Mmrantene of Sefwi Bekwai Traditional Area, Nana Kwesi Apoh, who spoke on behalf of the youth in the Sefwi Bekwai and it’s environs said, IGP should try as much as possible to arrest all the perpetrators who murdered the 27 year old lady to redeem their image and put them before court and face the full rigors of the law.
He added that, fair judgement about the case would go a long way to serve as lesson to others and save the people of Sefwi land from a global tag of murder.
