A yet-to-be constructed railway from Kumasi to Tamale through Sunyani sanctioned by the government would affect at least six communities in my district, Mr Thomas Owusu Ansah, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo Ano South-East has announced.

The major railway project would be constructed through Asempanaye, Dwenewoho, Biemso No.1, Adugyama, Biemso No. 2, and Pokukrom to Sunyani through to Tamale.

Making the announcement in his keynote address at the 37th Farmers Day event held at Adugyama on December 3, 2021, the DCE stated that anytime soon, a team of railway expert would visit the District to make interim evaluation of the lands and take inventory other properties that would be affected by the railway project.

The announcement on the railway project was met with rapturous cheers and jubilation by hundreds of audience dominated by farmers.

Residents who spoke with Myvoicenews.com after the announcement of the railway project by the DCE said it was good thing to happen on their lands and appealed to those who would be affected to cooperate with the government so that the project would see the light of day.
