Berekum Chelsea striker Stephen Amankona is expected to undergo medical before he joins Kumasi Asante Kotoko anytime soon, per media reports.
This comes after an agreement between Kotoko and Berekum Chelsea over the signature of the sublime finisher.
Amankona has been a target for Porcupine Warriors since the start of the ongoing transfer window after impressive form last season.
Reports suggest that Kotoko have agreed an onward transfer percentage of 15% with Chelsea and the attacker is set to undergo medicals at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital soon before he signs the dotted line to become the bonafide of Kotoko.
Amankona was instrumental for Berekum Chelsea last season which courted interest from Medeama Sporting Club and AshantiGold Sporting Club but will don jersey of Kotoko barely any unforeseen circumstances.
The goal poachers was sensational and by no doubt one of the best players in the league having scored 15 goals in all competitions in the 2020-21 season coupled with 7 assists, alongside three man-of-the-match awards.
Stephen Amankona move to Kumasi if materialised, will bring to nine Asante Kotoko’s new inclusions after signing Richmond Lamptey, Maxwell Agyemang, Collins Opoku, Isaac Oppong, Samuel Appiah, Richard Boadu, Samuel Boateng and Augustine Agyapong.
