Residents of Old Compound, a surbub of Bibiani, in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region have subjected Gabriel Gyapong to a severe beatings.
Gabriel, who is popularly known as Kwadwo Mepirawo believes to be in his early 40s was nearly Lynch to death by an angry mob of old compound community.
The reports indicate that in the early hours of Monday the said suspect was heavily chased by an angry mob when he attempted to break into someone’s room to steal his belongings.
The suspect was seen by a passers-by who raised alarm. He managed to run for his life to seek refuge at Bibiani police headquarters.
The suspect who was given a hot chased which compelled him to bounce into the police station for rescued.
According to the suspect, he had no option than to seek refuge at police station. The angry mob were not deter by the police, followed him to the police station and retrieve by force from the hands of the police and brutalitazed him in their presence.
An eyewitness gave an accounts that, they knew the suspect to be an ex-convict and serial thief.
The eye witness further said, they have spotted the suspect for a very long time to be an area thief who has been tourment the residents within that vicinity so they wanted to kill him.
