Tears Flow As Bibiani MCE Goes Home

The Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia yesterday led a high power government delegation to pay their last respect to the late Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekawi Mr Alfred Amoah was laid to rest at Sefwi-Bekwai.

The late MCE and his driver died in a gory accident on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, when they were returning from Accra on official duty.

With Dr Bawumia at the funeral attended by hundreds of mourners were Mr Dan Kweku Botwe, the Minister for Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development, Mr Richard Ebbah Obeng Western North Regional Minister, and Mr. George Boakye, the Regional Minister for Ahafo.

The rest were Dr. Kwaku Afriyie, Member of Parliament (MP) for Sefwi Wiawso, Mr Alex Tetteh, MP for Akontombra, Mr. Kingsley Aboagye-Gyedu, Former Western North Regional Minister, Mr. Sammy Awuku, Chief Executive Officer for National Lottery Authority (NLA) and the Western North NPP Regional Chairman Mr. Benjamin Armah.

An appreciable number of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs), were also present to bids their late colleague farewell.

Also in their numbers National and Regional Executives of the NPP, were also present.

The sorrowful atmosphere at the church service was intermittently charged with hymns and dancing, as mourners stuck in long queue to filed past the mortal remains of the late MCE several honours.

Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyabi ll, Paramount Chief of Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area and President of the National House of Chiefs, hosted Oyeadeeyie Basape Kwadwo Armah lll, Paramount Chief of Sefwi Bekwai Traditional Area and Okoyeaman Kwaku Gyamprah ll, Paramount Chief of Sefwi Chirano and a large number of traditional leaders across the country who were clad in their mourning clothes and smocks matched with beautiful regalia.

Corporate institutions and others such as Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipal Assembly, Asante Gold Cooperation, Chirano Goldmines Limited, Bibiani Senior Technical School, (BISEC), Sefwi Bekwai Senior High School (SEBESS), Universal Merchant Bank (UMB), Sefwiman Rural Bank, Opportunity International Bank, Upper Amenfi Rural Bank among others were also present to mourn the late MCE and his driver.
