Tory Lanez Clowned Over Defiant ‘last Tweet’ After Losing Bid for New Trial

Tory Lanez has found himself the butt of a viral joke after a tweet he made before heading to prison has blown up after him being denied a new trial.

On December 7, 2022, the Canadian star posted what he assumed would be his “last tweet” before presumably being vindicated.

“I’m going to leave this here one more time …and watch how it ages,” Tory wrote. “NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST ME SHALL PROSPER … AND EVERY TONGUE THAT RISES AGAINST ME IN JUDGEMENT SHALL BE CONDEMNED u sit and watch now …. And don’t ever question the GOD I serve again. This is my last tweet.”

However, three weeks later on December 23 he was ultimately found guilty in connection to the shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. Now, after a Los Angeles judge denied a motion for a new trial filed by the rapper on Tuesday (May 9), his past tweet has been making the rounds online.

One person noted that the weapon did in fact prosper against the singer: “the weapon you formed against megan prospered to be against you,” they wrote.

“weapons prospered, you’re convicted, denied retrial, beyoncé renaissance tour starts today and GOD IS GOOD !” another person tweeted, with a clip of Megan Thee Stallion twerking.

“I love revisiting this tweet. the sun outside feels nice today,” one user wrote, while another one tweeted: “brrrrrrr it looks like the weapons against you are starting to prosper.”

Prior to his failed attempt at appeal, the rapper pleaded with the judge to not “ruin my life.”

Lanez’ legal new counsel Matthew Barhoma and Jose Baez, argued that his previous defense attorney, George Mgdesyan, was “ineffective counsel” and that Tory’s DNA was never discovered on the gun, but it ultimately wasn’t enough to sway the judge.

Even though he was denied a new trial, Lanez can still appeal his conviction and “may actually have an argument, especially re: ineffective counsel,” Los Angeles Times writer James Queally tweeted. “But the bar for a verdict to be set aside before sentencing is incredibly high.”

He currently faces up to 22 years and eight months in prison, as well as subsequent deportation to his native Canada.

Meanwhile, Megan Thee Stallion has revealed that Beyoncé made her change her verse on the remix of “Savage” before it dropped.
