🇬🇭CONCERNED RESIDENTS FORUM IN KASOA and DEMOCRATIC UNION OF NATIONAL ALLIANCE[D U N A]🇬🇭*
16TH AUGUST, 2021
*KASOA POLICE ELEVATED TO A REGIONAL STATUS.*
By this statement, Members of the above mentioned groups wish to express our profound gratitude to the Police Administration and the Acting IGP, George Akufo Dampare for elevating the Kasoa Police to a *Regional Status.*
It would be recalled that, in April this year, we as Concerned Residents Forum in Kasoa during the height of crimes made a profound statement requesting for this status.
It therefore comes as a refreshing news to us that the new Inspector General of Police has granted our wish.
We believe that, this act will help bring change in the operations of the Police within Kasoa and its environs in order to reduce crime.
✍🏿We however call on the police to still consider the other recommendations suggested in our earlier statement such as the reintroduction of police tent cities.
*We urge government also to provide all needed resources(Human and Logistics) to the new Kasoa Regional Police Command in order to make the work of the police easier and effective.
*To the MP for this area who also doubles as the Minister for Fisheries and Aqua-culture Development,we are still waiting to hear from her on the floor of Parliament regarding some calls for her to file urgent questions inviting the National Security Minister and also the Defense Minister in getting us a Military base.
*We equally call on our revered Chiefs, Religious/ Opinion Leaders and the various Landlords/Residence Associations to help the Police Command situate the Regional Headquarters here in Odupong Kasoa and any other place.
*To each and every Police Officer working in Kasoa (From the Commanders to the last Unit)We say Kudos for every single sacrifice you made in making us come this far.
*On the part of residents, we continually advocate that, we assist the police by providing accurate information and tipoffs in order to weed out all criminal intended persons since security is a shared responsibility.
To the media, who have become our strong channel for communicating our request, we are very much grateful to you and to all top officials who have contributed towards this success too we say a very thank you.
We are absolutely sure, that, together we can reduce crime to its barest minimum in Kasoa in order to let Kasoa gain its good name back.
