Update: Alleged Bibiani wife killer grabbed in Kumasi

A 28-year-old man, Emmanuel Okyere who allegedly murdered his wife at Dedege a suburb of Bibiani in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai of the Western North Region, has been arrested by the police.

Emmanuel Okyere Baffuor was apprehended by Manhyia police a suburb of Kumasi Ashanti Regional capital, upon a tip-off.

According to reports, the suspect, allegedly stabbed and killed his 26-year-old wife, the late Joyce Johnes Affi Jassika. Baffour after the incident, attempted to take his life, by drinking poisonous substance but police prevented him.

Superintendent Seth Sewornu, the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Divisional Crime Officer who confirmed this to myvoicenews.com that, it was through swift collaborative efforts between Bibiani police command, Oforikrom and Manhyia Police command that led to arrest of the suspect.

He indicated that they obtained a court order from the Bibiani magistrate court for his arrest so the suspect would be transported from Kumasi to Bibiani for prosecution.

Superintendent Serwonu added that his outfit would arraign the suspect before law court for trial as soon the suspect is transferred from Kumasi.

Wife of the suspect, Jessica was found in a pool of blood covered with clothes on Friday afternoon in her parent’s house at Degede a suburb of Bibiani.

He disclosed the suspect Baffuor is currently in police custody assisting with investigations.

The Crime Officer was greateful to the good people of Bibiani and media freternity for their information leading the arrest of the suspect.

Superintendent Serwonu assured the residents of Bibiani for their continue corporation to fight crime in the Municipality.
