Ofori Amponsah, a well-known highlife artist, has openly acknowledged his relationship with socialite and entrepreneur Ayisha Modi, with whom he has a 17-year-old child.
In a recent interview with Accra FM, Ofori Amponsah confirmed their relationship, saying, “She is really my wife.”
The ‘Otoolege’ hitmaker confessed that they had gone through several breakups and reconciliations, which he considered to be normal when asked about the nature of their relationship.
“We are still together. We have broken up and made up several times, which is normal but we are still together,” Ofori Amponsah said on radio
As the conversation continued, a listener chimed in, confirming that Ofori Amponsah and Ayisha Modi had indeed lived together as a couple in Sowutuom.
In response to the listener’s remark, the singer affirmed its truth, saying, “Yeah, it is true. Then he really knows.”
This is however a clear contradiction to what Ayisha Modi revealed in a series of social media posts about her marital status.
She is now Abbas Giwa Sariki’s third wife, according to Ayisha, a chief of Sowuotuom and Shatta Wale’s godfather.
Before Ofori Amponsah made his public remark, Ayisha Modi revealed in a previous interview with Delay that she had married the highlife musician when she was just 18 years old, underscoring their enduring relationship.
She said that their marriage had experienced its fair share of ups and downs, eventually coming to an end in 2012.
