The Western North Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr William Benjamin Assuah has commended the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the speed development of the newly created Region to ensure the well-being of the people.
He gave updates on recent developments in the region and what the future holds for the good people of the Western North.
Speaking on the aftermath of the President’s appointment of MMDCEs, Mr William Assuah indicated that the good people of Western North have been welcoming and have embraced the outcome of the President’s decision, adding that although some may not have sided with the decision, they have however exercised decorum and maintained peace in the region.
This, he said, the Western North Region has experienced appreciable level of development under the NPP-led government, especially after its inception, adding that it was not so when there existed years back, the Western Region.
When asked of the hardships many complain of, he stressed that it’s quite unfortunate to assume that hardship started under the New Patriotic Party. He said, hardship as we widely know it has always existed, even in the days of Nkrumah.
He outlined the achievements of the NPP government and numerous policies and programmes rolled out which seek to alleviate these socio-economic hardships, which is how come the party continues to find innovative policies.
He mentioned for instance, the Free SHS, Agenda 111, 1-District 1-Factory, amongst others. These he said, are ways the government is seeking to reduce the hardships and improve the quality of life for Ghanaians.
Mr William Assuah, was in an exclusive interview on Adom TV’s popular talk show programme dubbed; “Sede3 Etee Nie” with Daakyehene Nana Asante said the Akufo-Addo Administration inherited a bad economy from the previous government but managed to transform it to improve upon the living conditions of Ghanaians, particularly in this era of the global pandemic of COVID-19.
Addressing the outcome of the party’s performance in the 2020 Parliamentary and Presidential elections Mr Assuah indicated how poised he was to win the Bia East, Juaboso and Sefwi Bodi Constituencies Parliamentary seats and although this widely didn’t go as intended, he is resolved the NPP will do even better in 2024 under his leadership, after he has contested and won in the next Regional Elections for the second term.
In his response to who to becomes the next flagbearer to lead the party into the 2024 elections, he said that members of the New Patriotic Party have the voice and already know who will lead the party.
